The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program© is one of the world’s most effective parenting programs.  It is based on evidence from on-going scientific research with over 300 trials and studies around the world showing it has benefits regardless of a family’s culture, country, or situation.

Triple P engages, encourages, and empowers parents, building the necessary confidence and skills to raise competent, healthy children and teenagers, and to build stronger family relationships.  It also helps parents manage misbehavior and prevent behavior problems from occurring in the first place.  Triple P builds upon parents’ existing strengths and teaches them simple and practical strategies they can adapt to suit their own values, beliefs, and needs.

Triple P is different because it is not a one-size-fits-all parenting program. Triple P is a multi-level system that offers increasing levels of education and support to meet the varying needs of parents.  It is currently used in 25 countries and has been translated into more than 20 languages.

What is Prevent Child Abuse Arizona’s role with Triple P?

Prevent Child Abuse Arizona has been fortunate to receive funding since 2015 to increase the capacity for Triple P statewide. Funders include the Steele Foundation, Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF), and the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). Through this funding the local workforce trained to bring Triple P to Arizona’s families has expanded to more than 300 practitioners, and these practitioners are reporting great success with diverse families!

Prevent Child Abuse Arizona also provides statewide coordination of Triple P activities across multiple organizations, projects, and funding sources. Through partnerships, linkages, and collaboration, we work to strengthen Arizona’s most valuable resource – our families!
